The Invisible Giant
Upon beginning the 12th grade, Davina began dealing with an illness that doctors could not directly diagnose. Three weeks before her senior graduation, she went completely blind. Doctors could not figure out why, and although this should have been devastating news, Davina does not recall being afraid. She states that “When I went blind is when I saw the Lord.” With God, prayer, and determination, her sight was restored. She was later diagnosis with Neuromyelitis Optica and is determined to give God the praise through it all. She is a testament to the power of God and encourages others that nothing is too hard for God.
Throughout this book, the memoirs of Davina Floyd show the daily challenges of a young lady facing an invisible giant. She shares key moments that show her faith and tenacity to move forward even when she does not know what she is truly facing. This memoir also includes reflections from her mom, Minister Dr. Dolores Floyd, who is also the author of another powerful and inspiring book entitled, A Living Witness. The main focus of my book is the survival from an automobile accident that I had in 1990 that resulted with me being in a coma for two weeks. I could have instantly died or remained in a state of vegetative However, God reached down from heaven and spared my life so that I could be a living testimony. I have no memory of the accident to this date, however, I do remember “a Voice with no face,” beaming in front of me. A Voice gently called my name, “Dolores.” To gain my total attention, the “Voice” called my name again, “Dolores,” and continued to say, “It is alright, don’t be afraid. I’m not going to heal half of you; I’m going to heal all of you.” Then the “Voice” left. At this point I had no idea what had happened to me or the seriousness of my accident.
Minister Dr. Dolores Floyd is a living witness to her car accident and several other miracles which the Lord performed in her life. She is an intercessor and has taught Sunday school and Bible study to children, teenagers, and adults over the course of thirty-five years. She is a motivational speaker and helps others to become winners.
